Applications
- Interior Decorative & Emulsion Paints — Sulphate grade TiO2 (rutile or anatase) is the standard white pigment in interior emulsion paints for residential and commercial buildings across UAE and Saudi Arabia — providing good opacity and whiteness at a competitive cost.
- Exterior Architectural Paints (Standard Grade) — Sulphate rutile TiO2 with Al₂O₃ surface treatment provides adequate UV resistance for standard exterior architectural paints.
- Paper & Board Coatings — Anatase TiO2 (high brightness, low abrasiveness) is preferred in paper coating and filling applications for UAE and GCC packaging and printing industries.
- Rubber & Plastics — Provides whiteness and UV protection in rubber compounds, PVC cables, and plastic products manufactured across UAE industrial zones.
- Distemper & Economy Paints — Standard white pigment in economy-grade water-based distemper and ceiling paints widely used in UAE and Saudi Arabia economy residential segment.

Usage and recommendations
Sulphate Rutile: use for exterior and semi-gloss architectural paints where moderate UV resistance is acceptable. Sulphate Anatase: restrict to interior applications — anatase promotes photocatalytic degradation of organic binders under UV, causing chalking in exterior coatings. Typical loading: 15–22% in architectural paints. For premium exterior coatings where SASO compliance and long-term performance are critical, consider upgrading to Chloride Grade TiO2. Storage and shelf life
Store in original sealed bags in a cool, dry warehouse (< 25°C, < 60% RH). Keep sealed to prevent moisture-induced caking. No defined shelf life when stored correctly.
