TDI 80/20 (Toluene Diisocyanate) | CAS 26471-62-5 | Supplier UAE & GCC

TDI 80/20 (Toluene Diisocyanate, CAS 26471-62-5) is a mixture of 80% 2,4-TDI and 20% 2,6-TDI isomers. It is the primary raw material for flexible polyurethane foam production — the foam used in mattresses, furniture upholstery, automotive seating, and carpet underlay. TDI is highly reactive with polyols and water, and requires careful handling. Raykem is a specialist TDI supplier across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the GCC, supplying from our Dubai office with full COA, SDS, and GHS-compliant documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between TDI 80/20 and MDI?
TDI 80/20 is primarily used for flexible polyurethane foam — mattresses, furniture, automotive seating. It produces open-cell, soft foam. MDI (Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate) is used for rigid foam (insulation panels), structural adhesives, elastomers, and coatings. TDI has lower vapour pressure than MDI but still requires proper ventilation and PPE.
Is TDI available in ISO tanks for Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Raykem supplies TDI 80/20 in ISO tanks (approximately 20 MT net) to Saudi Arabia via Jeddah and Dammam ports. ISO tank supply offers lower unit cost for high-volume foam manufacturers. Full documentation including SABER-compatible COA and SDS is provided.
What safety precautions are needed when handling TDI?

TDI is a highly reactive isocyanate and a sensitiser — inhalation can cause asthma-like symptoms even at very low concentrations. Mandatory requirements: respiratory protection (supplied-air respirator for high concentrations), chemical-resistant gloves, eye protection, and full-body coverage. Storage in a cool, dry location away from moisture. Refer to the full SDS before handling.
