What is the difference between MEA, DEA, and TEA?
MEA (monoethanolamine) has one amino group and one hydroxyl group — highest reactivity, lowest viscosity, used for gas sweetening and cement. DEA (diethanolamine) is less reactive, used in gas sweetening and as a surfactant intermediate. TEA (triethanolamine) is least reactive, higher viscosity, used for cement grinding and as an emulsifier. All three are available from Raykem.
Can MEA be used as a cement grinding aid?

MEA is corrosive and can cause skin and eye burns on contact. Inhalation of vapour can cause respiratory irritation. Required PPE: chemical-resistant gloves (nitrile or neoprene), safety goggles, and respiratory protection in enclosed areas. Storage in cool, dry conditions away from strong acids and oxidisers.
