Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC, CAS 9004-65-3) is a non-ionic cellulose ether supplied as a white to off-white powder. It is the most widely used cellulose derivative in construction chemical applications, functioning as a water-retention agent, thickener, binder, and film-former in cement-based and gypsum-based systems.
