Butyl Acrylate — CAS 141-32-2 | Monomer Supplier UAE & GCC

CAS: 141-32-2 HS: 2916.12 UAE & GCC Supply COA + SDS Included

Butyl Acrylate (n-Butyl Acrylate, CAS 141-32-2) is a clear, flammable liquid acrylate monomer with the formula C₇H₁₂O₂. It is one of the most important acrylate monomers in the polymer industry, used as a primary comonomer in emulsion polymerisation to produce soft, flexible acrylic polymers with low glass transition temperature (Tg). In copolymerisation with acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, or styrene, butyl acrylate imparts excellent flexibility, adhesion, and water resistance to the resulting polymer. Raykem supplies Butyl Acrylate from major producers in Asia and Europe to adhesive manufacturers, emulsion polymer producers, and coatings formulators across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the GCC.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Butyl Acrylate require special storage conditions?
Yes. Butyl Acrylate is inhibited with MEHQ (monomethyl ether hydroquinone) at approximately 10–20 ppm to prevent premature polymerisation during storage. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heat sources, below 25°C. Keep oxygen present in storage containers (do not store under inert gas). Full SDS is provided with each shipment.
What is the difference between Butyl Acrylate and 2-Ethyl Hexyl Acrylate (2-EHA)?
Both are soft acrylate monomers used to produce flexible polymers. Butyl Acrylate (Tg of homopolymer: -54°C) produces slightly stiffer polymers than 2-EHA (Tg: -70°C). 2-EHA is preferred for ultra-soft PSA applications, while Butyl Acrylate is more widely used in general acrylic emulsions and waterborne coatings.
What quantity of Butyl Acrylate can Raykem supply to UAE and Saudi Arabia?
Raykem can supply Butyl Acrylate from a single drum (180 kg) to full ISO tank loads (~18 MT). For UAE-based buyers, we can supply from our Dubai trading network. For Saudi Arabia, please contact our Riyadh team for current availability and lead time.
